7.21.08 - DONT MISS THE BIGGEST PARTY OF FALL 2008!!
Dead freaks and Crazyheads unite for the Tye Dye Ball and Tribute To Jerry Garcia!

SATURDAY AUGUST 9TH - LOST ON MAIN - CHICO

Dog Named Blue and Crazygrass are sharing the stage once again on August 9th at Lost on Main in Chico to pay homage to the late great Jerry Garcia. The Musical Brewing Co. will be opening the show.

Wear your best tye-dye tee-shirt and win a prize! A prize will be awarded for the best tye-dye tee-shirt.

About the bands…

Dog Named Blue...has been playing music in Chico for 16 years, and first shared the stage with Sid Lewis twelve years ago at the first Family Freak Festival in 1996. DNB's powerful renditions of the music of the Grateful Dead and two-drummer rhythm attack create a driving beat that spinners, hall dancers, and dirt-twirlers find hard to resist!

Crazygrass...Featuring Sid Lewis has become one of Chico's top live performance bands. Crazygrass has played throughout Northern California and toured the festival circuit including an appearance at The Strawberry Bluegrass Festival in 2008. Crazygrass combines country, bluegrass, funk, jazz and more to create their own signature sound.

The Musical Brewing Company...featuring Alli Battaglia are one of Chico's hottest up-and-coming new bands.

1.09.08 - Sid Lewis, Acoustic College Presents, and Crazygrass is proud to announce that the Flashback Ball was a roaring success! A benefit concert for KZFR community radio and 60’s costume ball, the 1st annual show on Saturday December 29th 2007 featured the music of local bands Crazygrass (with Sid Lewis), Swamp Zen (with Doug Stein, Saul Henson, “Snake” Holmes, Curtis Peldo, Gary Dutra, Mike Waltz etc) and The Chris Schadt Band (featuring Dorrie!).
“I wanted to show that the “old school Chico hippy crowd” is still alive and kicking”, said promoter Sid Lewis “And boy did we! We had over 400 in audience at any given time, all dressed up and going nuts. I like to think of the Flashback Ball as a continuation of energy from similar shows in the past, like the Family Freak Fest (by Curtis Peldo and Doug Stein, et al), the Cascade Full Moon Festival (by Candis Burton and Laughing Sun Presents). Chico has a huge underground of cool funky freaks, they just seem to have gone into hiding lately, and I can’t blame them. With the Flashback Ball we said: We’re still here, and we’re ready to ROCK!”
Look for pictures soon on the gallery page, or visit www.myspace.com/crazygrass
Sid Lewis and Acoustic College Presents would like to extend a warm thank you to the following:

All the Flashback crew, Sue Reed, Kyle & Lost O Main, Mary J, Jill Paydon, Jason Murray and the whole KZFR tribe, Jody McNicholas, Chico News & Review, Kyle Porter, Steve & Liquid Lights, artist Bill Rosser, Brian “Gravy” Asher, Tommy, and Sekund Natur, Doug Stein and the Swamp Zen collective, Straws on sound and stage managing, Tracy and Scott, Renay and Alyson (door babes), Stephanie and Ben, and all the WONDERRFUL Chico freako’s who came out and made the evening a success!
……….
See you all at the Flashback Ball II, December 27th 2008!
